Trigonometry is essentially the study of triangles. Some concepts are widely known and maybe learned in middle school or even geometry classes. Two examples are the 180-degree rule and the "Pythagorean Theorem". These two rules are the basis for which all calculations are based and should be used as a reference.

Finding the Value of a Side with Angles given

Although trigonometry can be considered its own branch of mathematics it still requires a basic understanding of Algebraic principles. For example, in order to find a missing angle, you must understand how to solve for a variable and rearrange equations.
